OVERALL JOB PURPOSE Responsible for directing the organization’s accounting functions. These functions include establishing and maintaining the organization’s accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives. Prepares financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to top management. Manage department in providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all Company activities that will assist management and other users in making educated decisions about the Company’s future. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial, or Business Administration. CPA required. Must have 5 –10 years experience in all aspects of accounting. Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge. Strong managerial skills. Exceptional communication skills. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and Accounting software. Proven track record with problem solving and analytical skills required. Able to work with a diverse group of people. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope. Responsible for all actions/responsibilities as described in company controlled documentation for this position. Contributes to and supports the corporation’s quality initiatives by planning, communicating, and encouraging team and individual contributions toward the corporation’s quality improvement efforts. Oversee the activities of the Accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal or external monthly financial statements and annual budgets. Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and expected operations. Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes. Advise management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities. Direct determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets. Maintain depreciation and amortization files: perform calculations and input additions and deletions. Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company’s value. Respond to VP of Finance with accurate and timely work to facilitate their financial needs. Coordinate the month-end and year-end closing process. Review company financial statements for accuracy and clarity. Direct preparation of budgets. Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports. Work closely with other Director of Finance to manage/lead the work of the accounting dept staff. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. | |
